Samsung — Not Heating
When a Samsung dryer runs but doesn't heat, the most common cause is a blown thermal fuse (a cheap safety part) or a burned-out heating element. Both are affordable and replaceable. The thermal fuse blows when the dryer overheats, usually from a clogged lint vent.
LG — Dryer Not Heating
When your LG dryer runs but does not heat up, the most common cause is a blown thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is a safety device that blows when the dryer overheats — usually because of a clogged lint vent. The fuse itself is cheap and easy to replace, but you also need to clean the vent to prevent it from happening again.
Whirlpool — Dryer Squeaking
A squeaking Whirlpool dryer is annoying but usually an easy fix. The noise is almost always caused by worn drum rollers, a frayed belt, or worn drum glides. These are inexpensive parts and most people can replace them with basic tools. The dryer is safe to use while it squeaks — it just will not stop until you fix it.
GE — Dryer Not Turning On
When your GE dryer does absolutely nothing when you press Start, the problem is usually something simple: a tripped breaker, a blown thermal fuse, or a faulty door switch. Start with the easy checks first — you may not even need to open the dryer.
Maytag — Dryer Not Drying Clothes
If your Maytag dryer runs but clothes are still damp after a full cycle, the number one cause is a clogged dryer vent. Lint builds up in the vent hose and duct over time, blocking hot air from escaping. This is an easy fix — and an important one because clogged vents are a major fire hazard.
